Service Description: This layer provides an easily accessible data base of intact core habitat areas across the continental United States, appropriate in scale to support Green Infrastructure Planning at local, regional and national scales, using the best available national data. The results are intended to be supplemented or replaced with more current or higher resolution data when available, while still supporting Green Infrastructure planning initiatives at the regional level.
Intact Cores - June 11, 2016 version
Using a methodology outlined by the Green Infrastructure Center, Inc. Esri staff created a national intact habitat cores database for the lower 48 United States.
The methodology identified, using nationally available datasets, intact or minimally disturbed areas at least 100 acres in size and with a minimum width of 200 meters.
